they say that it will give us more information on those two suspects once they are booked. however we do want to make note of something very here in this case. this is not the first time that fire has plagued this neighborhood. three years ago at the same exact time and another fire with a through this area at the same house. we spoke with the department of building inspectors that say that this building has been vacant since those fires and there has been a problem with squatters and neighbors have complained about that to police but the building inspector that we spoke to said that there has not been any complaints on record since 2009. i am sure that is something that it will be looking into. thankfully there were no injuries and all this. back to. >> how many people have been displaced by this fire? >> yes there have been people displaced, 10 of them, eight adults and two children in this case but the red cross has been on site, they left a few hours ago, they say that those people have been taken care of and like i said, eight adults and two children. >> thankyou cate

today's show case was about the commitment to safety and using improved technology using technology to improve inspection methods. it is called the in-line inspection tool. pgd uses these tools for years but this is the most upgraded version. pg&e's says that it works like an mri scan the inside of pipes using magnetic technology to check for any dents or cracks in the pipes. leaders say this is the most effective inspection tool say that it is expensive but worth it. >> it is more expensive to run this type of a tool. because of the requirements that it takes to make a pipe line segment searchable, or you need to install a receiver and then remove obstructions during that pipeline segments. but the real value comes in the repeated use of running mate tool over multiple years as the technology evolves. >> these tools were motivated by the 2010 pipeline explosion in san bruno. they hope to prevent future catastrophes. critics say that the systemwide assessment is long overdue. this year pg&e has eight of these devices and what they plan to do is stand at 206 mi. of pipe throughout 2010.
